BMmesh is a system for wireless control of lights and other devices

Features

Remote dimming of luminaires

from any location with internet connection.

Easy control from browser

over any internet connection.

Measuring

of power consumption, illumination (lux), temperature, presence / occupancy.

Easy configuration

of groups, scenes, power-on state, different locations.

Designed for mid- to large-scale systems

Automatic device discovery

Powerful user interface

with maps for easy diagnostics and maintenance.

Sends alarms

to email or phone, lights can dim down automatically when too hot, burglar alarm can turn lights on.

Daylight harvesting

when there is enough natural light, lights dim down.

On/off and dimming

performed by wall switches, time schedules/timetables, sensors or combinations.

Logging

history, charts and tables.

BMMESH consists of

Range of wireless hardware modules
such as light dimmers, on/off switches, dimmers, lux sensors etc.
Wireless gateways
which are also entry points to standard TCP/IP network
Central server
which collects and archives all data
Advanced graphical user interface (GUI)
that runs from a web browser

Advantages

  • Simply swap old luminaire for new – no need for additional communication wires for each light, switch, sensor or other device.
  • For new installations it reduces installation cost and time.
  • Can dim each light separately.
  • Fixtures do not need to be in range of all other devices – signal hops from luminaire to luminaire.
  • Sensors piggyback on wireless network between lights. No infrastructure cost of installation of power metering, illumination (lux) sensors, temperature sensors, presence / occupancy detectors.
  • Invaluable for upgrades of illumination in existing buildings.
  • Easy to scale and add units.
  • We offer complete OEM service for your projects.

Where can I use it?

BMmesh can be used in any building or infrastructure with luminaries like residential structures, hotels, apartment blocks, industrial workshops, warehouses, schools, parking spaces, parks or other premises. It can connect different locations like different buildings, places around the city or country.
It was designed for mid- to large-level systems, so that you can easily monitor large amount of lights and devices and check a lot of details about them.

Residential structures, schools

Warehouses, industrial workshops

Hotels, apartment blocks

Parking spaces

How do I use it?

  •   1.   First install a small module into your light or outside of it.
For each group of lights you also install wireless gateway, wireless on/off switches or dimmer actuators, illuminations sensors or other modules.
A group can be one floor of the building, one section of workshop that is controlled by same lux sensor, set of switches or any other setup.
  •   2.   Then connect gateways by standard TCP/IP connection, wired or WiFi, to central server.
From any computer with web browser you now connect to central server to configure lights – assign to groups, switches, schedules etc.
  •   3.   Once ready, you can control brightness of lights, check power consumption, logs, charts and lots more.

How it works?

Mesh network is a form of wireless network where all participants do not have to be within range of each other.
Data packets are forwarded from one module to another until they reach target.
Luminaries form ideal basis for mesh networks, since lights are usually located only a few meters apart.
Low-power microprocessors with radios with range of typ. 15-20m of meters can then be used to form such wireless mesh network.
If one path of communication stops working (eg. light failure), alternative path will be used automatically.

Hardware features

  • Self-healing wireless mesh network, if current route path is disabled, packets will be delivered by alternative path.
  • Outputs PWM (signal, power, hi-voltage), 0-10V, linear, DMX.
  • Isolated DIM and output GND, important for current sensing with most power supplies.
  • Versions with on-board power metering.
  • Versions with on-board DC-DC with CV or CC output.
  • Logging before power loss.
  • Over-the-air upgrades.
  • Low power.
  • Wire-like reliability.
  • In case of module failure simply downgrade luminaire to basic on/off light by use of jumper or on-board switch.
  • As OEM we can design hardware and software to your specs.

Online Demo

Experience managing BMmesh system!
Checking out online demo is free and no registration is required.

These online demos allow you to observe how wireless links are formed and how packets of data hop through the network.
You can also adjust power of lights, check feedback time, monitoring on charts and logging to archive.

Example of a residential building
This demo is a copy of installation inside actual buildings that were upgraded with LEDs and wireless mesh in 2014.
The residential building hosts 800 occupants and 400 staff. It consists of 630 lights spanning 34 floors across 4 buildings at different location. Each LED light has power of 21-62W and each wireless module also measures power consumption and temperature. Data is refreshed from network every 15 seconds.

Example of industrial building – CNC machining workshop
This demo is a copy of installation inside actual buildings that was upgraded with LEDs and wireless mesh in 2014.
It consists of 55 lights covering area of over 2500m2 of CNC machining workshop. Workshop floor is divided into 8 segments where brightness is controlled with dedicated lux sensor. Each LED light has power of 150W and each wireless module also measures power consumption and temperature. Data is refreshed from network every 5 seconds.

(For best results we recommend Chrome browser v49 or later, screen size 17″ or more and resolution at least 1280×960.
Devices with mouse and keyboard are also recommended.)
